Leer: Todo sobre el rejuvenecimiento con láser Erbium

Erbium Laser Resurfacing is one of our most popular skin resurfacing treatments. We are pleased to offer this advanced laser technology at our Orland Park office.
Erbium laser is a laser that resurfaces your skin in a gentle approach versus other lasers such as the CO2 laser. The Erbium Laser Resurfacing, also known as the Micro Laser Peel, has less down time than other laser resurfacing treatments and is minimally invasive.
The Erbium laser is used for treatment of the following skin conditions and issues:
Downtime varies depending on your treatment. Generally, 2-3 days would be a sufficient enough time to be able to go back to your normal skin regimen routine as well as wearing makeup. However, for aggressive Erbium laser treatments, downtime can be up to 7 days.
The treated area will be pink to red after treatment, which is normal. Over the course of a few days your skin will slowly heal and slough off dead skin. The severity will vary with each treatment. Your skin will look “rosy” for a few weeks and transition into a “glowing” skin tone /texture.
The number of treatments varies depending on patient’s expectations or goals. It also depends on the severity of the skin condition that is being treated. Typically, 1-3 sessions, 4 weeks apart, is recommended.
Cleanse your face twice daily with a gentle fragrance-free cleanser, keep skin moisturized with antibiotic ointment (recommended to apply twice daily), and apply sunscreen daily (re-apply every 2 hours as needed with sun exposure). Your skin will be sensitive to heat; therefore, it is recommended to avoid hot showers, hot saunas, and exercising until redness/ peeling has resolved. Avoid scrubbing, picking, and exfoliants. Dr. Shah recommends that you carefully follow the aftercare instructions provided to you to achieve the best results.
